Multiple settings can be customized for your operation for each Aircraft type in your fleet.
From the Aircraft Type List, click on the model aircraft to be edited.
Select the aircraft type category and class.
Toggle Active to No to deactivate an aircraft type.
If desired, set the common name of the aircraft type to make it easier to select from lists.
Standard Ground Time is used to schedule time on the ground between stops when building the schedule.
Color is used to identify the aircraft type on the schedule calendars.
Additional tenths is used only if the Company Custom Setting for adding logbook time is set to True.
ICAO Code is used for filing flight plans.
Set the weight and arm moments to the correct units.
Set the appropriate weights for the aircraft type. Water weights are used for seaplanes only.
For rotorcraft, Ramp weight should be set to the maximum weight with an external load. Takeoff Without External Load should be set to the maximum weight with internal loading only.
Enter the number of engines and the type of fuel burned.
Be sure to save your changes.
Aircraft Type Tabs
Aircraft
From the aircraft tab you can view which aircraft in your fleet are included in this aircraft type.
Click on a registration number to open the Aircraft Detail.
Click on the Location name to open Location details.
Events
Set the type of Maintenance Events that apply to this aircraft type in accordance with the Maintenance Event Setup instructions.
Seats
Edit the Seats settings here or from the Aircraft Seats List in accordance with the Aircraft Seats and Configurations instructions.
Tanks
Edit the fuel tanks here or from the Aircraft Tanks List following the linked instructions.
Settings
From the Settings tab, edit the settings as necessary using the blue pencil icons.
EFB Preferences
From the EFB Preferences tab, review each of the settings. If you need to change the default, click on the blue pencil icon. See the EFB Preferences document for details on the function of each preference.
Removable Equipment
From the Removable Equipment tab, add new equipment using the green plus button, and edit or delete an item using the respective blue pencil and red trash can icons.
Name the item, add it to a category of similar items, and enter the weight and arm(s). Toggle the Included in Basic Operating Weight to Yes if the equipment is included in the Basic Operating Weight, and to No if it is not included in the BOW.
Items will be grouped by category and by whether they are included in the BOW in FlightSpan™ Ops.
On the EFB, items are grouped by whether or not they are included in the BOW.
Base Configuration
Set up the Base Configuration of the aircraft type in accordance with the Aircraft Seats and Configuration instructions.
Quick Configurations
Set up Quick Configurations for the aircraft type in accordance with the Aircraft Seats and Configurations instructions.
Pilot Qualifications
Set up which pilots are qualified to act in specific roles in this aircraft type in accordance with the Pilot Qualification instructions.
