Weight and Balance Tab

Keep following the Pilots track

The weight and balance page is aircraft type specific so as to make loading the aircraft intuitive. The basic functions are the same across all aircraft types.

The details of how to perform each action will be covered in the subsequent lessons.

There are four sections of the weight and balance page:

  • Header
  • Cabin
  • Cargo
  • Load Summary

Header

From the header you can

  • Select which leg to edit
  • Set fuel and install aux tanks if equipped
  • Clear the load
  • Copy the configuration and/or load to another leg.

Cabin

In the cabin section, you can

  • Change crew members or crew roles for this leg only
  • Change seat configuration
  • Add standard passengers to all seats
  • Split a total passenger weight evenly across multiple seats
  • Add custom weight passengers
  • Add cargo
  • Stow seats (if your aircraft is equipped with seat stowage)

Cargo and Load Totals

In the cargo and load totals section you can

  • Add cargo to one of three variable stations
  • Calculate how much you can load at any given station
  • Add cargo to external cargo compartments (if installed)
  • See a load summary that includes:
    • Estimated landing weight and fuel remaining at your destination
    • Company runway landing weight limitation (if any)
    • Maximum payload
    • Limiting factor (Takeoff Weight, Zero Fuel Weight, Landing Weight, etc.)
    • How much has been loaded
