FlightSpan™ EFB Release Notes 10.8.0 – FlightSpan Documentation

FlightSpan™ 10.8.0 includes two new features, a number of enhancements, bug fixes, and one new aircraft type.

Note: After you have installed this release, it is safe to upgrade your iPad to iOS 26.

New Features

Rate calculator added to the DFR for adding a cash load. See the full documentation here.

You can also generate a Quote without adding a load when you click on the dollar sign. There are some minor UI differences from the Rate Calculator. See the full documentation here.

Added the ability to link to Flight Training Devices that run on X-Plane. See the documentation for instructions.

For pilot-created loads, the currency for the Cash/Charge column can now be set (note, only currencies associated with your organization’s rate structure will show on the list)

Added a Hide NOTAMs button when there are three or more expired NOTAMs on a runway chart

You can now elect to show Vx, Vy, and Vg speeds on the Takeoff Performance tab by switching them on in Aircraft Type EFB Preferences. NOTE: you must provide FlightSpan™ Support with these speeds for your aircraft type and if you want them to be reduced for weights below max takeoff weight, please provide documentation/charts that define the speed at lower weights.

Auto Fill / Match Hobbs no longer records engine starts if any engine starts have already been recorded
Aft seat stowage added to C206 and A90 aircraft
Warning banner added to the fleet button if there is an error retrieving fleet aircraft positions
Push notifications added for v2 messages so you will receive notifications even when FlightSpan™ is not open
Eliminated nuisance VSR alerts when close to the airport
When Name is selected on the route builder, waypoints are now sorted by name instead of identifier
You can choose to make specific cruise altitudes unavailable for use/filing in the app (for instance, 19,500 feet is often not available for filing) from Aircraft Type EFB Preferences
Helio Courier pod orientation has been reversed, with front on the right so it matches the view when loading the pod
External cargo compartments other than belly pods are now labeled with specific names (e.g. R Nacelle)
Default flight purpose can now be set at the account level, superseding the Rate’s default flight purpose
Entering break time on the Duty Time entry form now conforms to the Company Custom Settings for reducing (or not reducing) Pilot and Flight Attendant duty time by break periods
